Importer Exporter Code - IEC

All importers and exporters are required to obtain Importer Exporter Code (IEC), a 10-digit code, from the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) in India. The IEC acts as an identification number for importers and exporters and is used in all transactions with Customs authorities. IEC has to be validated from time-to-time.

AD Code Registration

Authorized Dealer (AD) Code registration is an important element in required in the process of transacting international business. Authorized Dealer banks in India offer unique codes to organizations to help with foreign exchange transactions, including remittances, imports, exports, and other foreign currency-related activities.

Extended Producer Responsibility - EPR

Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) is an environmental policy approach where a producer’s responsibility, physical and/ or financial, for a product is shifted or extended to the post-consumer stage of a product’s life cycle. EPR regime is under implementation in Plastic Waste Management Rules, 2016. It speaks about the the responsibility of Producers, Importers and Brand-owners to ensure processing of their plastic packaging waste through recycling, re-use or end of life disposal (such asco-processing/Waste-to-energy/Plasticto-oil/roadmaking/industrial-composting). The fundamental objective of this is to encourage sustainable behaviours, lessen negative environmental effects, and develop a more responsible method of product management, thus to promote responsible trade.

Authorised Economic Operator - AEO

As per World Customs Organisation (WCO), an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO) is defined as a party involved in the international movement of goods, in any or many ways, approved by, or on behalf of, a national Customs administration as complying with WCO or equivalent supply chain security standards. This programme aims to enhance international supply chain security and facilitate movement of legitimate goods.

The Indian AEO Programme is implemented vide CBIC Circular 33/2016 – Customs dated 22.07.2016, and has been amended from time to time as per the need of the hour and has emerged as the most comprehensive statutory framework.

To make trade and stakeholders more compliant to the international trade needs, Om Saptarshi assist customers in the application process of AEO certification.
